This year we wanted to simplify the CAP and make it less cumbersome on team leaders. Here is the updated, more simplified version of how the CAP works.
What is the Cap?
The cap is the maximum average player rating in which the board uses to gauge team parity during the team making process.
How does this affect teams during the season?
When a player is missing, the team leader can replace the missing player with a spare from the newly formated spare pool**. The player missing and the player being called must be equal to or less than the same number. For example: Hot Shots Magee, rated a 3, is missing tonights game. The team leader decides to call Danny The Duster who is rated a 3 as well. Big Shot Shaun who is rated a 6 is NOT elgible to spare for Hot Shots. This would cause a forfeit.
What if I'm missing more than one player?
You can replace as many or as little of the missing players as you like. However, player ratings CANNOT be accumulated to call a better spare. For example: If you are missing a player rated a 2 and a 4, you cannot call a 6. You can call a 2 or less, OR a 4 or less.
**All spares who registered for the 2020/21 season will be part of the spare pool. This means they can play for any team during the season. As long as they fit within the above cap rules.
